Honoured friends of waterpolo!

During the August in Gradac, the center of local community Makarska riviera, four international waterpolo tournaments for younger cadets, cadets and juniors will take part. Just like in previous years, we expect all four traditional competitions to be the biggest sport events of Summer touristi season in area, where many European tourists spend their vacation. Gradac and Makarska riviera offer various culture and entertainment possibilities like sport events and are also famous for longest and the most beautiful sand beaches and cleanest sea in Croatia.
When spoken about the competitions (held in three categories - young cadets, cadets and juniors) very important thing is completing of the tourist offer of Gradac and local community as well as the whole Makarska riviera. In 2010 Gradac is celebrating tourist anniversary and all four waterpolo tournaments will be organised in that aim, in cooperation with Gradac Tourist Commitee, Community of Gradac and Dalmatia area. But, the main purpose of organization of above mentioned fout tournaments is the connection and cooperation of Croatian youth with their European colleagues as wells as connection with youth of the former Yugoslavia countries. Along with present contact with teams from Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Jadran Neum and Sarajevo), France, Holland and Romania we shall spread over our cooperation with Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Spain, Norway, Polland, Belgium, Serbia, Bulgaria, Sweden, etc.

a) The first tournament for younger cadets (players born in 1993 and younger with possibility for playing for three players born in 1990-92) will be held under the title "The 5th MEMORIAL WATERPOLO TOURNAMENT GRADAC 2010". It will take part in Gradac in early August (4th-5th) 2010, with male or female teams from Croatia and abroad taking part.
b) The second tournament (generation 1996 and younger) will be organized for young cadets under the title THE SECOND (2nd) WATERPOLO TURBO CRO CUP GRADAC 2010. This is one-day friendly competition and will be held on 16th or 17th of August 2010, for male and female players.
c) The third tournament (generation 1997) is under the title “3rd TROPHY CROATIA GRADAC 2010" and will be organized for the first time for female and male players (born in 1997 and younger). It will take part on 28th and 29th August 2010.
d) The fourth tournament under the title “9th WATERPOLO GRADAC CRO CUP 2010” is the biggest, the highest quality tournament for juniors born in 1992 and younger (4 players born in 1990/1991 are also allowed to participate) and planned to be played in three day competition (17th-19th August 2010).

The tournaments will be held on open swim area "Soline", with male or female teams from Croatia and EU. Along with tournament matches, friendly matches with home teams will also be organoized. Teams which will participate in tournaments will be from neighbouring places (Rogotin, Podgora, Tucepi, Makarska), other Dalmatian teams (Dugi Rat, Omis, Vela Luka, Blato, Okrug Gornji near Trogir), from Bosnia and Herzegovina (Jadran Neum and Sarajevo) and European Union. Neighbouring teams will arrive on matches by buses, personal cars or mini vans.
Foreign teams from Europe who want to participate on one or more tournaments we have offeres, especially on 3-day tournaments, taking part in the end of August 2010, will have a possibility of accomodation in some of tourist objects or in private apartments with affordable prices. In Villa "Fefan", near sport playground, three teams with 18-20 persons each, can be accomodated for 26 € for full pansion (three meals, sleeping, including staying tax). In pansion "Zdravljak" in the very center of the place (owner Mrs. Radojka Krstić) there is enough place for one team for the same price (16-18 persons).
In private house Villa Mirnna (owned by family Cerkez), also in the center of Gradac, there are rooms for one team (20 persons), for whom meals would be served in nearby restauraunt “Vagabundo“ or restaurant “Lux”, also for 26/27€ a day for one person. Accomodation for 2 teams is also available in Villa "Simunovic–Trutina", and we expect opening of the new Hotel "Gradac" (manager Mr. Mijo Cosic) with 160 beds (two and three beds in a room), with possibility for accomodating all waterpolo teams, offering sleeping and meals for approximately 25-27€ (25 minimum, 27 maximum). All interested teams should come two days earlier.
There is an option for longer stay for guest teams from Europe, but it should be reserved earlier and partly paid in advance. The applications will officially be open on 01.11.2009 and will last until 01.05.2010. The organizers ask for attention to all participating teams to confirm participation timely e-mail, post or fax, signed and marked by the responsible person, because of limited tourist capacities in peak season in Gradac. Therefore, teams are asked to confirm and reserve stay untill 01.05.2010. Your deposit (800 € for 1 team) will be ensured on current account of our "Sportsko društvo Gradac“ (Sport society Gradac), and will cover a part of your total price of accomodation. The rest of the price for full pansion (sleeping, food and tax) teams should pay to owners of chosen tourist objects in cash, because we have noticed that difficulties with paying bigger amounts from credit cards might occure. The same way, in cash, teams would have to pay possible rent of mini van (8+1) or mini bus (17+1) for friendly matches in the Makarska riviera area.

Your timely contact and reservation of accomodation, means of transportation (mini van, bus or air transport to Dubrovnik or Split, 100 km from Gradac) would make your stay in Croatia more pleasant. All foreign teams should bring state flags (70x140cm) and CD-DVD with the state anthem.
The organizer of tournaments, VK "Gradac" will ensure cups in permanent ownings for 4 first clubs, for the best singles-individuals (player, shooter, goal keeper) and cup for fair play. On the "9th Waterpolo Gradac Cro Cup 2010", there cups will also be awarded for the most attractive player, the youngest and the oldest player, the best coach and medals (gold, silver and bronze) for three first settled teams. As for "3rd Trophy Croatia Gradac 2010" medals are ensured (gold, silver, bronze) and the different cup. The big interim cup will be delivered by grant medias patronage "Sportske novosti", the only Croatian sports journal. The other media promotors will be many Dalmatian and Croatian radio stations.
